Responsibilities
- Design and drive the architecture of backend services for biometrics and ML model serving.
- Build and maintain services for deploying and serving ML models in production.
- Collaborate on organization-wide architectural initiatives and cross-cutting platform capabilities.
- Lead architectural reviews, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices.
- Support real-time and batch inference workflows.
- Deploy and operate services using AWS, ECS, Fargate, SageMaker, EC2, and Kubernetes.
- Monitor production service reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Requirements
- Strong backend development expertise with Java and working knowledge of Python, particularly for ML-related workflows.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions.
- Hands-on AWS experience, including services such as DynamoDB, ECS, EC2, Redis, S3, and SageMaker.
- Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or New Relic.
- Experience with containers and orchestration, including Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of deploying and serving ML models in production.
- Nice-to-have experience with MLOps or ML platform engineering.
- Nice-to-have experience with asynchronous programming and event-driven systems.
