Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy enhancements to HSBC’s electronic trading platform.
- Support and optimize software built by the team.
- Collaborate with software engineers in other time zones.
- Reduce toil and repetitive tasks through automation.
- Use agentic AI for software maintenance.
- Apply profiling and metrics collection for data-driven optimizations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience with low-latency or real-time systems.
- Excellent Java proficiency, including concurrency, tuning, and memory management.
- Good command of the Linux/UNIX command-line interface.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience with container runtimes such as Podman and Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with message-passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD techniques.
