Base Salary
$150k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test distributed energy resource telemetry and control applications for heterogeneous OEM hardware, sensor and actuator networks, and remote terminal units.
- Develop high-performance, production-grade software optimized for resource- and bandwidth-constrained environments.
- Collaborate with energy solutions providers on proprietary hardware and on-premises software stacks.
- Provide specifications for over-the-air updates and remote access solutions for on-premises customer software.
- Apply security best practices to critical infrastructure and cyber-physical systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior and career-level engineers.
- Advance standards and practices for network programming, state management, testing, and software quality.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of experience working directly on bare-metal applications.
- Strong systems programming skills in C/C++, Rust, or Go and scripting experience with Shell or Python.
- Advanced knowledge of communications across all layers of the OSI networking model.
- Hands-on exposure to lightweight database engines such as SQLite or LevelDB.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial automation software, PLCs, microcontrollers, and finite state machines.
- Extensive experience with security technologies such as public key infrastructure, encryption, cryptography, or data privacy.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field, advanced Rust knowledge, and experience with power systems and grid hardware.
- Preferred: experience with Intel Atom or similar low-powered CPUs, control methods, industrial protocols, resilient networks, and battery energy storage technologies.
