Responsibilities
- Embed within customer engineering teams and translate business requirements into technical designs for AI-enabled production systems.
- Design and develop production-grade AI applications, including retrieval pipelines, workflow automation, API orchestration layers, and data integrations.
- Integrate foundation models, customer data sources, and existing applications into cohesive AI experiences optimized for latency, reliability, and cost.
- Own the software lifecycle across scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, monitoring, evaluations, and guardrails.
- Troubleshoot production incidents across AI models, distributed systems, and application services and resolve operational root causes.
- Mentor and train new team members, participate in code reviews, and coach others on high-quality software development.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer AI adoption and create reusable patterns and accelerators for future deployments.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with agentic and spec-driven development; experience developing AI agents is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools, including evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred: 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: Experience working in customer production environments and building or deploying AI/ML applications in production.
- Preferred: Founder, engineering lead, or startup-builder background with high ownership and urgency.
- Preferred: Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred: Experience interfacing with customers or leading technical projects with external stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience working with teams that build and scale end-to-end production systems and experience with AWS services.
