Base Salary
$179k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Make architectural decisions that shape Kernel’s long-term evolution.
- Design GraphQL APIs for searching, editing, and analyzing tens of thousands of genetic constructs.
- Architect data models representing the complexity of biological systems.
- Work directly with synthetic biologists to understand workflows and identify productivity-enhancing tools.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting developed software.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building production software.
- Deep expertise in Python 3.
- Ideally, experience with GraphQL, SQLAlchemy, and/or Strawberry.
- Experience thinking through API design, data migrations, and systems scaling to significantly higher usage.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and help define a first-of-its-kind product.
