Base Salary

$117k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public cloud platforms.
  • Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
  • Develop containerized microservices using frameworks such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Mesos.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code and contribute to open source technology.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and improve system availability, resilience, and performance.
  • Balance live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to keep services operational and highly available.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of backend software development experience using Python with cloud architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, servers, cloud architecture, and Linux internals.
  • Professional Python experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
  • Experience with public cloud engineering, provisioning, infrastructure, and migration at scale on GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
  • Experience configuring, deploying, managing, and maintaining large cloud-hosted systems.
  • Experience with container and orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Splunk, Puppet, Spinnaker, Terraform, and Git.
  • Strong knowledge of DNS, load balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, SQL, HTTP, switches, and routers.
  • CI/CD experience with Jenkins and Travis CI.
  • Experience implementing large infrastructure projects and managing configuration with tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible.
  • Experience maintaining monitoring platforms such as Grafana.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology and test-driven development.
  • Preferred experience with AWS Route 53, highly available 24x7x365 multi-datacenter environments, packet and network analysis, fault diagnosis, and network security hardening such as DNSSEC.
