Responsibilities
- Design, implement, administer, and support enterprise IAM solutions with a strong focus on Okta.
- Engineer Okta Identity Engine, Okta Workflows, adaptive access controls, authentication, federation, and identity lifecycle processes.
- Build and maintain SSO, federation, provisioning, authentication, and authorization integrations across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises applications.
- Automate identity operations using PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, APIs, provisioning connectors, and related tooling.
- Troubleshoot complex identity, access, authentication, and provisioning issues across enterprise environments.
- Partner with security, infrastructure, application, and architecture teams to incorporate IAM requirements into system and application design.
- Improve IAM controls, architecture, processes, user experience, and operational efficiency.
- Create technical documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to IAM architecture decisions and platform roadmaps.
Requirements
- Typically requires 7+ years of experience in identity and access management, cybersecurity engineering, or related infrastructure/security roles.
- Hands-on enterprise experience engineering and supporting Okta, including Okta Identity Engine, Okta Workflows, and adaptive access policies.
- Strong experience with SSO, federation, MFA, SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM, LDAP, directory services, identity lifecycle management, provisioning/deprovisioning, and access control models.
- Scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Universal Directory, delegated administration, API gateways, and service-to-service authentication and authorization is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience contributing to IAM standards, architecture decisions, and platform roadmaps is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical delivery is preferred.
- Okta certifications or other relevant IAM/security certifications are preferred.
