Responsibilities
- Design and build synchronization and metadata-handling logic for UniFi Drive on macOS.
- Develop platform-integrated file experiences using macOS system behaviors and APIs.
- Solve system coordination, change-management, and cross-device edge cases.
- Collaborate with backend and infrastructure teams on data models, APIs, and end-to-end reliability.
- Work with product and design partners to translate user workflows into technical solutions.
- Improve performance, stability, and maintainability through measurement, profiling, and iterative refinement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent experience building and shipping production systems.
- Hands-on development experience on Apple platforms, including macOS and/or iOS.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and the ability to reason about complex system behavior and trade-offs.
- Ability to decompose ambiguous problems and make thoughtful engineering decisions.
- Solid programming skills in Swift or Objective-C.
- Proficiency with Git and modern collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with macOS file I/O, processes, concurrency, and memory management is preferred.
- Experience with networked or asynchronous systems such as REST APIs, WebSocket, or WebRTC is preferred.
- Experience with synchronization logic, storage, backup, NAS, hybrid local-cloud environments, or performance and I/O optimization is preferred.
