Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow models for BCM application software and automotive body electronics.
- Translate system and software requirements into control logic, state machines, reusable subsystems, model libraries, and model interfaces.
- Implement BCM functions including lighting, wipers, washers, central locking, power windows, mirrors, horns, and body access features.
- Perform model simulation, debugging, peer reviews, unit-level verification, and functional validation in Model-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop environments.
- Support automatic code generation, generated-code reviews, software integration, build issue analysis, and defect resolution.
- Ensure model quality through modeling guidelines, naming conventions, reusable architecture, signal consistency, data type usage, and review checklists.
- Guide junior developers and coordinate with requirements, architecture, integration, validation, quality, and customer teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience is required; the professional profile specifies 7 to 9 years in automotive embedded software, MATLAB/Simulink model-based development, or control software development.
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent 15 years of full-time education in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, model development, model debugging, simulation, and model-based software design.
- Experience with control logic, state machines, truth tables, reusable subsystems, signal routing, data dictionaries, model interfaces, and calibration parameters.
- Understanding of automotive ECU software development, preferably in BCM, body electronics, chassis, powertrain, ADAS, or similar vehicle domains.
- Experience with Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, unit testing, simulation-based verification, and requirements-based test case development.
- Experience or exposure to automatic code generation, Embedded Coder, TargetLink, MISRA C expectations, and generated-code integration.
- Working knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, UDS diagnostics, ECU communication concepts, vehicle signals, and signal databases.
- Exposure to ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, requirements traceability, configuration management, defect lifecycle, JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, Polarion, Git, or SVN.
