
Senior Software Engineer

- Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate secure production software and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business requirements, architecture, and technology direction.
- Build services using object-oriented design, service-oriented or microservice architectures, APIs, relational databases, and asynchronous processing.
- Operate containerized workloads in public cloud environments and implement observability through logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and incident triage.
- Own ambiguous problems through design, implementation, and release; decompose work for others and raise engineering standards.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring, hiring and interview loops, and a rotating on-call schedule that may include support outside regular business hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree and 2 years, a Ph.D. and 1 year, or 12 years of related experience without a degree.
- Professional experience designing, building, and maintaining production software in a modern object-oriented language such as C#, Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, Python, or C++.
- Experience with object-oriented design, microservice or service-oriented architectures, distributed failure modes, HTTP/REST APIs or gRPC/GraphQL equivalents, and authentication and authorization patterns.
- Proficiency with relational databases, including schema design, indexing, query tuning, transactions, and managed migrations.
- Experience with asynchronous and message-driven processing, public cloud environments, containerized workloads, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
- Experience with production support, observability, live incident triage, senior-level ownership, and Agile or iterative delivery.
- Preferred experience includes C# and .NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Docker.
- Preferred experience includes distributed-system patterns, performance and scalability work, feature flags and progressive delivery, static analysis and security scanning, legacy modernization, vendor API integrations, multi-tenant SaaS, relevant transportation or automotive domains, resiliency practices, and mentoring.
