Responsibilities
- Drive ambiguous, high-impact problems from initial idea through production.
- Partner with Product and Design to define scope, trade-offs, and execution plans.
- Design, build, and evolve reliable, correct, and maintainable production systems.
- Share ownership of systems through on-call responsibilities and incident response.
- Contribute to technical and product decisions that shape the team’s direction.
- Improve team standards, tooling, and development processes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ownership of production features or systems, including reliability and on-call responsibilities.
- Strong product and customer judgment with the ability to make thoughtful trade-offs under ambiguity.
- Backend development experience using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres.
- Experience operating production systems with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Comfort working in containerized or cloud-based environments.
- Ability to review AI-generated pull requests with appropriate skepticism.
- Experience with React Native, financial systems, payments, crypto-related systems, or high-growth product environments is preferred but not required.
