Responsibilities
- Build systems that extract structured data from emails, documents and other unstructured sources.
- Enrich client, landlord, tenant and property records using communication history.
- Develop summarisation, retrieval and ranking systems for client communication histories.
- Build reliable Python backend services and APIs around NLP, ML and LLM workflows.
- Improve retrieval using RAG, BM25, embeddings, hybrid search and reranking.
- Define quality metrics, evaluation datasets and feedback loops for extraction, summarisation and retrieval.
- Integrate ML and LLM workflows with error handling, observability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with engineering, product and operations teams to turn business problems into scalable automation systems.
Requirements
- Strong Python backend engineering experience and experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask.
- Production experience with NLP, ML, information extraction, retrieval, ranking or summarisation systems.
- Ability to take research ideas or prototypes into production.
- Strong understanding of evaluation, metrics and quality measurement for ML and LLM systems.
- Practical experience with retrieval systems such as RAG, BM25, embeddings, hybrid search or reranking.
- Experience building reliable services around ML workflows, including monitoring, testing and failure handling.
- Understanding of LLM limitations, hallucination risks and safe user-facing AI.
- Experience working with messy, ambiguous or incomplete real-world data and operating independently in ambiguous product areas.
- Preferred experience includes AI or LLM agents, document understanding, email parsing, entity extraction, CRM enrichment, LLM evaluation, prompt/version management, human-in-the-loop review, vector databases, search infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD and testing ML systems on complex production datasets.
- Experience with typed programming languages such as TypeScript, Java, C#, C++, Kotlin or Scala is a plus.
