Responsibilities
- Design, implement, execute, and maintain automated test cases for APIs, backend services, and frontend workflows.
- Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria, identify additional test scenarios, and collaborate with developers to improve testability.
- Develop and maintain automated tests using Python, Playwright, and a Behave-based BDD framework.
- Maintain test frameworks, test clients, mocks, test data, and test environments.
- Investigate failing tests, identify defects, and maintain regression and smoke test suites.
- Execute tests locally and through CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with QA Automation Engineers, developers, and software requirements leads.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience in software test automation.
- Experience with API testing; REST experience is sufficient, while gRPC or OPC UA experience is advantageous.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated test cases and regression suites.
- Experience with Python, ideally at an advanced level, or a solid automation background with willingness to develop Python skills.
- Experience with BDD and TDD; Behave knowledge is preferred.
- Experience with Playwright using Python rather than JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with Docker, ideally Docker Compose.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Nice-to-have experience includes GitLab, VS Code in WSL2, DevContainers, hardware mocking, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, OPC UA, shell scripting, or pipeline scripting.
