Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an API automation strategy aligned with organizational quality goals.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java API automation frameworks using RestAssured or Karate and BDD practices.
- Write automated tests for API functionality, performance, security, data quality, and large datasets.
- Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI pipelines.
- Use AI models and AI agents to generate test cases, identify scenarios, and automate testing tasks.
- Create and manage test cases, catalogs, test sets, plans, executions, and traceability in Jira and Xray.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, architects, and integration partners on testability and quality risks.
- Establish QA guidelines, review code, maintain secure coding practices, and support minimum code coverage of 70%.
- Write and maintain unit tests with JUnit or TestNG and contribute coding tasks to system design specifications.
- Test Spring Boot and Spring Cloud microservices deployed on GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Validate relational and NoSQL database data and troubleshoot operational issues using monitoring and logging tools.
- Document test plans, procedures, scripts, results, and configuration in Git, Confluence or SharePoint, and Jira.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in software development and quality assurance with a strong focus on API automation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with RestAssured and BDD frameworks such as Cucumber/Gherkin.
- Experience with Postman, Swagger, Hoppscotch, or ReadyAPI for API testing and exploration.
- Knowledge of API security testing principles and tools such as OWASP.
- Experience designing data-driven tests and building reusable automation frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in Java and hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud microservices.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions.
- Experience with JUnit or TestNG, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Strong working knowledge of Jira and Xray, including test case, test catalog, test set, and traceability management.
- Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra, including data quality testing.
- Proficiency with Git and experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab.
- Experience with Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA, secure coding, code review, test planning, and test documentation.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and independent troubleshooting skills.
- Preferred experience with Pact, JMeter, Gatling, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and eCommerce domain testing.
