Responsibilities
- Align with implementation teams on customer technical environments, data, and country-specific payroll requirements.
- Design, build, deploy, test, and roll out production-grade software and integrations in live customer and partner environments.
- Integrate payroll systems with customer data sources, APIs, and identity/access systems.
- Troubleshoot implementation and production issues in real time, including ambiguous problems.
- Translate field learnings and recurring implementation needs into improvements for the core product and AI-enabled deployment toolset.
- Partner with product, engineering, implementation, customer experience, and solution consulting teams across the region.
- Train Customer Experience and Solution Consulting teams on payroll functionality, deployment processes, and troubleshooting.
- Support the payroll country development team with product and engineering work between implementation engagements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building, shipping, and supporting production-grade code.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience integrating software with external systems, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
- 1–3+ years of experience with Workday Payroll.
- Production coding experience in one or more of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or Java.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern deployment practices involving containers and infrastructure as code.
- Strong communication skills and experience partnering with customer stakeholders, including nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
- Experience creating training content or enabling teams on technical or payroll concepts.
- Willingness to travel or work onsite with customers as needed.
- Workday Payroll certification is required.
