Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements.
- Review requirements, analysis, design documents, architecture, and code changes.
- Implement, test, maintain, debug, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns and developing standard operating procedures.
- Maintain existing codebases, conduct peer reviews, and investigate relevant new technologies.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead work across project teams.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Make independent technical decisions and participate in additional projects as needed.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in Java Enterprise Edition and a minimum of 10 years developing software for large business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture skills, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- React front-end experience, Pulsar event-bus integration, and Snowflake cloud big-data experience are preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data and machine-learning technologies.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
