Responsibilities
- Develop variable-degree-of-freedom simulations and related mission design software tools.
- Develop, integrate, and test software enhancements and capabilities.
- Prepare software documentation for deliveries.
- Recommend improvements to software design and development processes.
- Support and maintain mission design software at Class C in accordance with NPR 7150.2 procedures.
- Perform full software lifecycle activities including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and release.
- Work collaboratively with NASA civil servants and contractor employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with experience in the field or a related area.
- Proficiency in C++, Fortran, and Python.
- Experience delivering products using source-code management tools such as Git and GitLab.
- Experience implementing and enforcing software coding standards.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and techniques.
- Proficiency with software task-management and collaboration tools.
- Experience with Agile frameworks, methodologies, and techniques.
- Experience working in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, work with limited supervision, and present written and verbal information.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Preferred: experience with NASA Software Engineering Requirements NPR-7150.2D or DO-178C, and NASA software assurance and software safety standards.
- Ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation; proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency may be required.
