Responsibilities
- Design integrated AD/ADAS software architecture specifications for embedded software systems.
- Elicit, analyze, define, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design software architectures and determine functional placement to satisfy system requirements.
- Define CPU and software-component allocation, software scheduling, and utilization of memory and other hardware resources.
- Evaluate processing load and memory capacity and develop mitigation plans when resource limits are exceeded.
- Establish software architecture design strategies and development processes.
- Report to the Engineering Manager while working in a hybrid arrangement of three days in the office per week.
Requirements
- At least four years of professional experience in embedded software development.
- Practical experience eliciting, analyzing, and defining requirements for embedded software development.
- Knowledge of software platforms and middleware including POSIX, RTOS, Ubuntu, ROS, and QNX.
- Knowledge of programming languages including C, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, and C#.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese.
- Conversational-level English communication ability with TOEIC 730 or higher.
- Preferred experience designing embedded software architectures and developing software for autonomous driving or ADAS.
- Preferred knowledge of SoC-based embedded systems with multicore processors, GPUs, and hardware accelerators.
- A Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
