Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver complex, scalable frontend systems while reducing unnecessary codebase complexity.
- Partner with Product Managers to define requirements, scope features, and assess engineering feasibility.
- Lead technical decisions and delivery for medium-to-large scoped features.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and teaching best practices.
- Own the frontend stack by identifying and addressing bottlenecks, technical debt, and systemic issues.
- Advocate for React, TypeScript, web performance, maintainability, and quality practices across engineering.
- Collaborate with Data Science and Backend Engineers to support seamless data flow and end-to-end reliability.
- Develop robust and efficient unit and integration tests.
- Build data visualization and analytics experiences for large datasets when applicable.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with deep specialization in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Experience architecting complex state management systems and understanding transferable state-management principles.
- Experience with or familiarity with TanStack Query, React Router, Zustand, Redux, MobX, or Next.js.
- Ability to design maintainable systems that handle complexity effectively.
- Experience elevating peers through code reviews, mentoring, and teaching engineering patterns.
- Competence writing unit and integration tests with tools such as Jest or Playwright.
- Deep understanding of web performance, browser internals, and optimization for data-heavy applications.
- Product-oriented judgment, including the ability to challenge requirements and propose better solutions.
- Experience with data visualization, large datasets, DOM-heavy applications, or Highcharts is preferred.
- A portfolio, GitHub history, or technical writing demonstrating clean code, design awareness, and architectural problem-solving is preferred.
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Angular, ClickHouse, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Knowledge of AI-driven coding tools and models is preferred.
