Base Salary
$44k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain low-level software for networking infrastructure using C and embedded Linux.
- Apply operating-system, routing, and networking fundamentals to real infrastructure systems.
- Automate critical workflows using Python, Bash, or Jenkins.
- Support system security through DevSecOps and security-focused development practices.
- Collaborate with Cisco product and engineering teams during the 12-week internship program.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program with 2 years of work experience, or a master’s degree program with 0 years of work experience.
- Pursuing a qualifying degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, with expected continued enrollment after the internship.
- Proficiency in C and experience with embedded Linux demonstrated through an academic, personal, or professional project.
- Working knowledge of at least two of operating systems, routing, or networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of Python, Bash, or Jenkins.
- Exposure to DevSecOps workflows or security-focused development practices.
- Preferred: exposure to cybersecurity fundamentals or security protocols, familiarity with FPGA development, and understanding of at least two of signal integrity, power integrity, or PCB design.
