Responsibilities
- Design and analyze innovative Linux scheduling features.
- Measure performance and power on real hardware platforms.
- Develop and test software across software models, FPGA systems, development boards, and shipping products.
- Upstream and maintain Linux Kernel features.
- Build consensus with the upstream community around Linux scheduling and power management on Arm platforms.
- Write documentation and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Established experience or a Bachelor’s or higher degree in a STEM subject.
- Passion for open-source software development and visible contribution to the Linux Kernel.
- Commanding knowledge of operating-system development and debugging.
- Understanding of low-level computer systems and hardware.
- Excellent C skills; assembly skills are desirable.
- Strong analytical, written, spoken English, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Arm architecture and tools is desirable.
- Experience with power-management tradeoffs, software optimization, instrumentation, multicore systems, testing methodology, automated testing, embedded platforms, real-time operating systems, and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl is desirable.
