Responsibilities
- Build self-service tools and platforms that enable teams to act on guidance and implement repeatable processes.
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex, large-scale distributed systems.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into scalable, secure, reliable architectures with clear service boundaries, APIs, data models, and deployment strategies.
- Build data ingestion and processing systems, backend services, and reliable multi-step workflows with retries, state tracking, observability, and failure handling.
- Write, review, test, deploy, and support production-quality code and services.
- Evaluate architectural tradeoffs involving performance, scalability, resiliency, security, cost, and maintainability.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor teammates, document decisions, and guide execution across the development lifecycle.
- Research and prototype applied AI, workflow automation, data processing, and cloud-native approaches.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems.
- Strong proficiency with Python 3.10+ and clean, maintainable software design.
- Experience building backend APIs and services with FastAPI or similar modern frameworks.
- Strong database experience with PostgreSQL, ORM patterns, schema design, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience designing distributed systems, data ingestion and processing pipelines, multi-step workflows, concurrency, asynchronous processing, and distributed execution patterns.
- Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Docker, production container delivery, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, quality gates, dependency checks, deployment controls, and operational safeguards.
- Ability to translate high-level requirements into practical designs, implementation plans, and deliverable work.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with consideration for relevant coursework, experience, or extensive related professional experience.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity domains, security findings, alerts, vulnerabilities, policy issues, remediation, exception handling, and operational control workflows is preferred.
- Experience with React and TypeScript, Snowflake, Databricks, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, AI-assisted development, LLM-based applications, or agent frameworks is preferred.
