Base Salary
$121k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and test Minis features across access-point firmware, switches, gateways, sandboxed test execution, and cloud services.
- Write and maintain network and application validation tests for DNS, DHCP, ping, and MTR that report results to the cloud through Kafka.
- Debug cross-layer issues spanning AP firmware, cloud services, and data pipelines.
- Extend Minis support to switches and WAN edge devices in collaboration with peer development teams.
- Build and improve cloud services involving Storm topologies, Airflow DAGs, Redis caching, Elasticsearch queries, and Kafka consumers.
- Monitor production feature rollouts and respond to customer-reported issues.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, data science, QA, and firmware teams.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on development experience in at least two of Go, C, or Python.
- At least 2 years working on Linux-based systems, including shell scripting, debugging tools, process management, file permissions, and networking configuration.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and HTTP, including packet capture and traceroute interpretation.
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud or distributed systems, such as Kafka, MQTT, Storm, Flink, REST API development, or Docker-based deployments.
- At least 1 year of experience with Git-based version control, pull requests, code reviews, and CI pipelines.
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred experience with embedded Linux development, cross-compilation, on-device debugging, and resource-constrained environments.
- Preferred exposure to Apache Storm, Airflow, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Preferred familiarity with AI/ML concepts, model inference, data preprocessing, or signal processing.
- Preferred experience with wireless networking, access-point hardware, or IoT protocols.
- Preferred experience with production monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Preferred familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, or JSON data processing.

- The position is based in the United States and offers an annual base salary range of USD 120,500 to 243,000 in California, with possible variable incentives.
