Base Salary
$148k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reliable iOS mobile infrastructure, including networking, architecture, and UI frameworks.
- Build foundational systems and frameworks that improve developer productivity and enable Lyft engineers to ship mobile features efficiently.
- Collaborate with designers, Android engineers, Web engineers, and other mobile infrastructure teams on future UI and architecture patterns.
- Support iOS engineers across Lyft and use their feedback to improve tools, roadmaps, and offerings.
- Identify and reduce developer friction through refactoring, process improvements, and new engineering approaches.
- Stay current with iOS development and contribute to open-source projects including the Mobile Native Foundation and Hammer.
- Mentor and support other Mobile Engineers and lead projects from concept through completion.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Swift and delivering high-quality, clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Experience with UIKit, declarative UI development, and creating shared components.
- Experience working with designers and on internal developer productivity teams or projects.
- Familiarity with current design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Experience mentoring and supporting other Mobile Engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a project from initial concept through successful completion.
- Bonus qualifications include open-source contributions, SwiftUI experience, and experience with unidirectional and reactive programming.
