Base Salary
$137k - $206k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate agentic and LLM-powered systems for biologics scientists.
- Create custom agentic skills and tools that encode scientific expertise and support real domain workflows.
- Integrate agents with internal data, models, and services through approved enterprise integration platforms.
- Build end-to-end LLM and agentic applications, including interfaces, authentication, logging, evaluation, error handling, and monitoring.
- Develop digital pipelines connecting models, data, high-throughput laboratory platforms, and scientists.
- Partner with protein scientists, computational biologists, platform engineers, BIX, EAI, and R&D IT.
- Document code and technical work in GitHub and Confluence and follow safety, quality, compliance, and FAIR data practices.
- Deliver production tools, establish evaluation and guardrail practices, and contribute reusable components to shared repositories.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent demonstrated ability.
- 3–10 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems and deploying them to production, including a personally built and shipped project used by others.
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript programming skills and practical software development experience with clean code, version control, testing, and maintainable systems.
- Experience building with LLMs and agent frameworks, including tool and function calling, retrieval, and orchestration of multi-step workflows.
- Daily practical use of agentic developer tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of Unix, SQL databases, APIs, and AWS cloud computing.
- Experience with enterprise tool-integration layers, Pydantic-AI, LangChain, production RAG pipelines, vector databases, or similar technologies is desired.
- Experience with at least one compiled language such as C, Java, Go, or Rust is desired.
- Experience with LLM evaluation, guardrails, containers, Kubernetes, cloud deployment, and platforms such as Domino is desired.
- Familiarity with laboratory automation, high-throughput platforms, scientific data, responsible AI, and compliance in regulated environments is desired.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions to non-engineering scientists.
