Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions using programming languages, databases, container orchestration, AWS services, and open-source frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams, including coding standards, design patterns, operational excellence, and technical direction.
- Define service boundaries, integration patterns, reusable frameworks, and long-term technology strategy with architects.
- Improve system performance and reduce technical debt through targeted refactoring and emerging technology evaluation.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to professional development within technical teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 7+ years coding with two or more listed programming languages, 4+ years with APIs, cloud platforms, distributed data tools, real-time streaming applications, and open-source frameworks.
- Preferred experience includes database design, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, observability platforms, mentoring, cross-functional engineering leadership, and coding-standard enforcement.
- Experience using AI tooling, IDE copilots, and AI-based coding assistants to improve engineering productivity.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Plano, TX and Richmond, VA, and $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, VA; the role may also include performance-based incentive compensation.
