Software Engineer III - Trading Technology | Asset Management
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Support critical trading applications in production and resolve user issues.
- Design and engineer scalable, high-performance systems across multiple asset classes.
- Collaborate directly with Traders and Quants to deliver trading technology solutions.
- Build and maintain core Java applications for mission-critical trading platforms.
- Architect and implement messaging and streaming solutions using technologies such as Kafka and AMPS.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through production deployment.
- Lead code reviews and mentor team members.
- Use authorized AI-assisted development tools while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Improve automation, code quality, delivery speed, and team engineering practices.
Requirements
- Formal software engineering training and certification with at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and end-to-end software systems.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of core Java or Kotlin and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of modern software architecture, design patterns, reliable systems, and scalable systems.
- Experience using authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and commitment to code quality and engineering excellence.
- Preferred experience includes financial services or trading technology, distributed systems, microservices architecture, observability and telemetry, financial markets, mentoring, and low-latency or high-throughput systems.
