Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of business-critical infrastructure for Vertex AI products.
- Solve complex backend system problems involving scalability, reliability, performance bottlenecks, and rapid growth.
- Drive security and compliance implementation for Cloud AI products to support customers in regulated industries.
- Collaborate with Google AI initiatives including Gemini serving, Partner MaaS, and Agents.
- Improve interoperability across Vertex AI products and GCP, non-GCP, Kaggle, Hugging Face, and TFHub services.
- Apply emerging AI infrastructure patterns such as model lifecycle automation to build the Vertex AI foundation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
- Experience with Kubernetes, C++, Go, Apps Framework, distributed systems, Spanner, Google Cloud Platform, One Platform, and compliance.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience with distributed system design for infrastructure software.
- Preferred: experience building or operating large-scale services on Google Cloud Platform using Spanner, IAM, OnePlatform, GKE, or Compute Engine.
- Preferred: familiarity with compliance requirements including CMEK and Wipeout.
- Preferred: experience solving ambiguous infrastructure problems involving system performance and multi-region availability.

- US base salary of $207000-$300000, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
