Responsibilities
- Build scalable Infrastructure-as-Code patterns with Terraform and standardize cloud provisioning.
- Own and evolve Kubernetes environments, including EKS or self-managed clusters, for secure, scalable, and resilient workloads.
- Optimize CI/CD systems and partner with engineering teams to improve deployments, release confidence, and developer experience.
- Design secure networking, IAM, secrets management, observability, disaster recovery, backup, and multi-region resilience strategies.
- Improve cloud cost efficiency through rightsizing, autoscaling, and architectural improvements.
- Lead infrastructure modernization, incident response, postmortems, documentation, workshops, and adoption of new platform tooling.
- Drive reliability outcomes including improved SLO/SLA performance, fewer incidents, increased automation, and reduced operational toil.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
- Production experience designing and operating Kubernetes environments at scale.
- Deep hands-on AWS infrastructure and cloud networking experience.
- Strong experience building and maintaining Terraform modules across large cloud environments.
- Experience owning CI/CD systems and improving DORA metrics.
- Experience leading incident response and producing meaningful postmortem outcomes.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, Kafka-based event-driven architectures, and PostgreSQL performance.
- Ability to modernize legacy infrastructure and independently take ambiguous infrastructure projects through production.
- Bonus: application coding, high-throughput Kafka or MSK operations, PostgreSQL and Redis tuning, autoscaling, service mesh, internal developer platforms, zero-trust networking, policy-as-code, multi-region systems, SLOs, error budgets, or chaos testing.
