Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver robust, high-scale routing experiences for the Twilio Segment Data platform and pipelines team.
  • Architect, operate, and maintain always-available distributed systems in cloud environments.
  • Guide technical decisions and articulate trade-offs among cost, performance, and reliability.
  • Translate complex technical strategies into actionable plans for Product Managers, Architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and scale systems processing several hundred thousand data points per second and querying petabytes of data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with high-scale messaging or streaming systems and processing engines handling several thousand events per second.
  • Expert programming experience in Go or similar object-oriented languages.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, prototyping, and deploying GenAI/LLM solutions for engineering or data processing challenges.
  • Technical depth in distributed systems, high-scale ingestion, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Proficiency with datastores, distributed caching, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is desired.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus, and AWS infrastructure is desired.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, operational excellence, and high-level service design abilities.
