Base Salary
$94k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable, resilient, and operable distributed-system components.
- Deliver product features and load/performance tests for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Build fault-tolerant paths using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Detect and mitigate issues through tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, runbooks, incident response, and root-cause analyses.
- Implement replication and synchronization, automation and infrastructure-as-code for troubleshooting and maintenance, and advanced security controls.
- Review peer implementations for scalability compliance and maintain change, compliance, and documentation standards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of Java or another base language, with preference for functional programming languages such as Scala.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, networking protocols, and network architectures.
- Ability to design, troubleshoot, and maintain networking infrastructure for high-throughput use cases.
- Strong understanding of databases, storage, and distributed-persistence technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
- Strong knowledge and interest in AI adoption, prompt engineering, and agentic programming; ChatGPT and Codex experience is a plus.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.

- U.S. hiring range is $93,700 to $209,500 per annum, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.
