Base Salary
$93k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve a bounded, multi-tenant Compute/Imaging platform component and its service contracts.
- Design, implement, debug, and optimize scalable, resilient distributed-system components and APIs.
- Build fault-tolerant paths using redundancy, replication, failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop functional and non-functional tests, performance optimizations, monitoring, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, and observability.
- Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code for troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and patching.
- Participate in on-call rotations, critical-incident recovery, incident response, and root-cause analyses.
- Lead designated code reviews, document software designs and adoption guidance, and mentor or technically guide others.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and product defects, coordinate solutions, and recommend product enhancements.
- Apply secure coding, security controls, compliance practices, and software development standards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of AI adoption, prompt engineering, and agentic programming; ChatGPT and Codex experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of a base language such as Java, with preference for a functional language such as Scala.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, networking protocols, and network architectures.
- Ability to design, troubleshoot, and maintain high-throughput networking infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of databases, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
