Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and debug technical solutions and complex software components.
- Fix defects in legacy technologies and help move the legacy product toward newer web technologies.
- Write clean, documented, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and pair programming.
- Collaborate with team members to specify, design, and develop software that meets product requirements.
- Estimate work, meet schedules, identify technical risks, and propose alternative solutions.
- Support product quality, data security, software delivery, and defect prevention.
- Contribute to AI-first engineering practices using AI-assisted development tools.
- Identify process deficiencies and implement improvements that increase efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar.
- Experience with Java or Microsoft C#.
- Good understanding and experience with SQL, APIs, and REST.
- Experience with unit testing and software quality standards.
- Awareness of current software engineering trends, including AI-assisted development practices.
- Ability to identify technical risks and propose alternative solutions, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Agile or Kanban methodologies.
- Desirable experience with JavaScript, Angular, or Knockout.
- Desirable awareness or experience with Google Kubernetes Engine, GCP offerings, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and AWS.
- Degree-level or equivalent education in a relevant subject is desirable.
