Responsibilities
- Own large, impactful software projects and the technical roadmap for assigned areas.
- Design and implement scalable Java backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
- Build and evolve microservice systems supporting global KYC, onboarding, verification, and compliance workflows.
- Integrate risk and mitigation systems to support regulatory compliance.
- Address technical debt, reliability, scalability, security, and system health concerns.
- Lead technical delivery for large-scale, organizationally complex projects and cross-team initiatives.
- Identify solutions to ambiguous problems and make prioritization decisions based on customer and business impact.
- Mentor engineers, share best practices, and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Java 8+, the Spring framework, asynchronous message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and highly scalable microservices.
- Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization, schema design, and sensitive-data lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery of large-scale, organizationally complex projects and anticipate organizational blockers.
- Strong product mindset with an interest in customer experience and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex, ambiguous problems.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical and architectural concepts to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable, and performant code, rigorous code reviews, and strong engineering practices.
