Responsibilities
- Define and evolve architectural direction and long-term target architectures across aligned UK technology domains.
- Lead larger initiatives with Product, Service Transition, Cyber Security, and Engineering teams.
- Develop product roadmaps and architectural guardrails for agile delivery teams.
- Drive architectural simplification, quality, pragmatism, reuse, and buy-versus-build recommendations.
- Balance short-term team needs with long-term business strategy and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers and identify technical skills needed for target architectures and solution design.
- Support resilient, real-time, intelligent, secure, performant, and cost-effective solutions in a regulated financial-services environment.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a technical leader with strong business, industry, and deep technical understanding.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and adapt across the architecture landscape.
- Experience or familiarity with AWS, cloud-native and public-cloud architecture, real-time or event-driven architectures, SaaS and enterprise platforms, and complex technology estates.
- Ability to lead strategic initiatives, define target architectures and roadmaps, and establish delivery guardrails.
- Ability to make technical trade-offs and align diverse stakeholders through clear communication.
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting career growth in solution design.
- Comfort working in inclusive, ambiguous, fast-paced, and highly regulated environments.
