Base Salary
$108k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend applications and services.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, and data services for mission applications and workflows.
- Design and implement AWS-based cloud-native solutions focused on reliability, scalability, and security.
- Develop and optimize PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch data solutions, including modeling, queries, indexing, search, and performance optimization.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture decisions, code reviews, troubleshooting, development standards, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, DevSecOps engineers, mission users, and program leadership.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required; a polygraph is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of software development experience, including significant hands-on backend development with Java.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, PostgreSQL or MySQL, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, Git, and modern software development practices.
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and collaborate with technical and mission stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, cloud-native architectures, Spring Boot, microservices, containerization, Kubernetes, search and data discovery, GEOINT or national security systems, and developer mentoring.
