Responsibilities
- Develop solutions for secure and scalable operations of Riot’s global network backbone and UDP game traffic.
- Break down and independently execute engineering work with general direction from technical leadership.
- Follow design, coding, and engineering quality standards and participate in code reviews.
- Identify efficiency and improvement opportunities and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with technical leadership and other engineers to ensure successful implementation.
- Participate in routine, emergent, and on-call work involving uptime, SLAs, and root-cause analyses.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience focused on infrastructure or tooling in a fast-paced, large-scale environment.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience with one or more object-oriented languages, such as Go, C++, Python, or Java.
- Experience with large-scale cloud and/or physical infrastructure ecosystems.
- Understanding of core infrastructure services, distributed systems, microservices, and large-scale software.
- Preferred experience in fast-paced and matrixed organizations and in supporting agile development, production services, and high availability.
- Preferred experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Argo CD.
- Preferred experience working with the Linux kernel, writing software or firmware for hardware environments, and understanding networking from HTTP through TCP/IP, routing, and DNS.
