Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and support enterprise API solutions using Apigee.
- Manage the API lifecycle, including design, development, security, deployment, monitoring, versioning, and governance.
- Build and document API integrations across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, third-party vendors, and partner systems.
- Develop reusable API proxies, shared flows, security policies, and integration components.
- Implement traffic management, authentication, authorization, rate limiting, caching, threat protection, and logging policies.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize API performance, latency, scalability, and operational stability.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies, mitigation plans, customer escalations, and production support issues.
- Deliver proofs of concept, conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute reusable assets and frameworks.
- Implement DevOps and CI/CD practices for API testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Support integration, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with business, security, infrastructure, application, architecture, and delivery teams.
Requirements
- A college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in API development, integration, and API management projects; the posting also specifies five years of API management and integration experience.
- At least three years of hands-on Apigee development experience and implementation experience on at least two enterprise-scale projects.
- Strong experience with Apigee Edge or Apigee X, API proxies, shared flows, flow hooks, API products, developers, applications, and monetization concepts.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, API-first architectures, API security, API governance, enterprise integration patterns, and API lifecycle management.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML, API keys, mTLS, SSL/TLS, API gateway policies, and API analytics.
- Experience integrating ERP, CRM, SaaS, cloud-native, and event-driven systems, plus troubleshooting API performance and security issues.
- Experience with logging and monitoring platforms, CI/CD tools, automated deployment pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with production support, incident management, root-cause analysis, Agile Scrum, and DevOps environments.
- Strong communication, analytical, documentation, collaboration, organization, and customer-interaction skills.
- Ability to define team processes, manage risks and metrics, conduct project audits and reviews, and mentor team members.
- Apigee API Engineer Certification or related Google Cloud certifications are preferred.
- Experience with IBM API Connect, DataPower, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Terraform, Confluence, JIRA, and enterprise architecture frameworks is advantageous.
