Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain C, C++, and C# applications using .NET for embedded ophthalmic medical devices.
- Participate in requirements, architecture, detailed design, implementation, testing, and documentation across the software lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with IEC 62304 and FDA-regulated medical device software development processes.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated unit tests and test automation frameworks.
- Author requirements specifications, software architecture documents, detailed design descriptions, and test protocols and reports.
- Participate in code reviews, risk assessments, and design discussions focused on safety and reliability.
- Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and research technical issues to develop innovative solutions.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience developing safety-critical software in the medical device industry.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, C#, and .NET application development.
- Hands-on Windows development experience.
- Experience with multithreading and interprocess communication.
- Familiarity with software architecture and object-oriented design patterns.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Preferred experience with QNX RTOS, Photon GUI, Microsoft technology stacks, galvo control algorithms, FDA-regulated medical device software, IEC 62304, hardware/software interfaces, TCP/IP, and advanced maintainable software design principles.
