Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop, review, debug, and operate secure, high-quality production software.
- Build and operate cloud-native solutions with Kubernetes and at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Develop services primarily in Golang and/or Java.
- Drive consistent validation, peer review, automated testing, and code-quality practices across the team.
- Promote reusable patterns and scalable approaches to improve engineering efficiency.
- Automate or eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability.
- Lead evaluations of vendor, startup, and internal architectural designs for technical fit.
- Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and improve automation across the software development lifecycle.
- Coach engineers on validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java and/or Golang.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Proficiency across the software development lifecycle and practical cloud-native experience.
- Advanced understanding of application resiliency and security practices.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Function-wide subject matter expertise and active contribution to engineering communities and firmwide engineering practices.
- Preferred: Spec Drive Development experience, strong AI-tool fluency, and understanding of cloud governance.
