Base Salary
$69k - $125k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 8+ or Kotlin.
- Build reactive microservices and event-driven architectures using modern frameworks, Kafka, webhooks, and asynchronous communication.
- Design RESTful APIs and contribute to application architecture and technical best practices.
- Support the availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical cloud-based and distributed systems.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, continuous improvement, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in an Agile development environment.
- Take ownership of deliverables, provide constructive technical feedback, and contribute to technical leadership discussions.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+; Kotlin is a plus.
- Proven experience building microservices-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Vert.x, Micronaut, or Quarkus.
- Experience with event-driven systems and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
- Solid experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle and exposure to NoSQL databases such as Couchbase.
- Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical systems and working with cloud-based distributed architectures.
- Preferred experience includes reactive programming, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, performance tuning, caching strategies, Python, and distributed-system design patterns such as Circuit Breaker and Saga.
- Preferred knowledge includes AI/ML concepts, LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and adaptability in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
