Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks from scratch or extend existing frameworks.
- Define and uphold test-quality standards and contribute to test strategies for products and services.
- Write maintainable integration, API, and end-to-end tests and build reusable test utilities, mocks, and simulators.
- Drive automated contract, smoke, regression, and end-to-end testing across front-end, back-end, APIs, and distributed microservices.
- Integrate and evolve automated testing frameworks within CI/CD pipelines.
- Own the structure, health, and relevance of test suites and regression packs.
- Design testing strategies combining automation, exploratory testing, and regression coverage.
- Perform and organize performance testing using tools such as K6 and JMeter.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test cross-squad functionality and integration.
- Investigate defects and production issues, support manual QA, and validate fixes through automation.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in test automation.
- Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks and API-testing tools, rather than only executing tests.
- Confident programming in TypeScript for automated tests.
- Expertise designing and executing end-to-end test strategies aligned with Agile delivery.
- Experience embedding quality early in the SDLC with product managers, engineers, principal engineers, and delivery managers.
- Experience working in agile continuous-delivery teams and coordinating defect evaluation, prioritization, and resolution with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Preferred: a Computer Science or Information Technology degree, diploma, or similar qualification.
- Preferred: CSTAE or ASTQB ISTQB Advanced Certification or Certified Automation Tester certification, such as Cypress or Playwright certification.
- Preferred: familiarity with pipeline and event-driven systems, including Kafka, AWS EventBridge, AWS Step Functions, queues, streams, and Snaplogic.
