Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production-grade AI agents in Python that interact directly with customers.
- Develop multi-step agentic workflows that understand intent, maintain context, reason over information, use tools, call APIs, and take actions.
- Integrate agents with Gong APIs, data, internal services, databases, and external systems.
- Build reliable systems that handle failures, retries, timeouts, unexpected inputs, observability, and live customer traffic.
- Evaluate and improve agent quality through production data, offline and online evaluations, regression testing, experimentation, and customer feedback.
- Own backend systems end to end, from design and implementation through deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of backend engineering experience with Python.
- Strong system design, application development, analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on production experience designing, building, and operating AI agents or agentic applications, including orchestration, tool usage, context and memory management, and multi-step workflows.
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, ADK, or similar agent orchestration frameworks.
- High proficiency in Python for production-grade AI applications and backend services.
- Experience integrating AI-powered applications with APIs, databases, internal services, and external systems.
- Experience building backend applications and services in distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms and scalable microservices architectures.
- Excellent communication skills, a strong product mindset, and experience collaborating with product and engineering teams.
