Base Salary

$173k - $253k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services and features supporting Fortnite anti-cheat and related security capabilities, including corresponding game code.
  • Read, debug, and write Fortnite code in C++ and backend service code in Go.
  • Identify vulnerable components in the Fortnite client or backend, communicate recommended solutions, and implement fixes when appropriate.
  • Debug, modify, and optimize security systems across the Fortnite client and backend.
  • Help diagnose and resolve live issues and ensure services operate reliably at scale.
  • Influence teams to maintain a security-oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Programming, or a related subject, or proven extensive hands-on experience without a degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of and debugging skills in C++.
  • Fluency in Go, Java, C#, or a similar programming language.
  • Ability to code and design system frameworks, APIs, and tools using sound software programming principles.
  • Understanding of online multiplayer video game architectures.
  • Technical understanding of online service backend structures and technology stacks.
  • Creative, methodical, self-directed approach to solving challenges through final resolution.
