Base Salary
$134k - $216k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve Fortnite stability, performance, CPU, GPU, and compatibility issues across PC hardware configurations.
- Improve platform toolchains, compiler and linker support, SDK upgrades, platform-specific data management tools, debugger integration, and crash reporting.
- Improve low-level systems interfacing with platform APIs, including memory allocators, file systems, and input systems.
- Monitor release stability and performance data, address live player issues, and improve Unreal Engine systems for Fortnite-specific use cases.
- Build and maintain Fortnite support across PC storefronts, operating systems, and architectures, including Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and Windows on ARM.
- Collaborate with Fortnite and Unreal Engine teams to solve complex technical challenges and improve product stability and quality.
Requirements
- Strong C++ knowledge and multithreaded programming experience, with the ability to code and architect core engine systems.
- Experience profiling and optimizing a large codebase.
- Ability to diagnose, debug, and resolve complex issues from a live-service title, including stability problems.
- Ability to reason about and debug large interacting systems from macro-level to micro-level.
- Linux experience, including profiling and optimizing code that runs on servers, is preferred.
- Experience with OS-level systems, Windows/Linux APIs, and common frameworks is a plus.
