Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, high-throughput Java transaction-processing and booking platforms.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability for mission-critical Prime Brokerage Custody systems.
  • Implement data quality and data governance standards and translate stakeholder data needs into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and globally distributed onshore and offshore engineering teams.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in code reviews and improve development processes.
  • Contribute to data architecture presentations and the broader architecture community.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience is generally expected.
  • Strong Java and Spring experience developing enterprise-level systems.
  • Strong design and implementation fundamentals for scalable systems.
  • Hands-on experience with multithreaded applications, messaging brokers, distributed caching, databases, and distributed technologies.
  • Experience with application integration, software design patterns, frameworks, unit testing, automated testing, performance and memory analysis, and n-tier service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience with event-driven and message-driven architecture, REST services, Docker, container orchestration, version control, and build and release management.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, SQL and NoSQL database systems, Kafka or comparable messaging and streaming platforms, and AWS or Azure data services.
  • Experience with Agile development techniques and continuous integration and continuous delivery principles.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, AMP, Deep Search, Copilot, and other emerging AI capabilities, including spec-based AI coding.
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work independently within a geographically distributed team.
