Base Salary
$137k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and production delivery of bespoke AI solutions for law firms and corporate legal departments.
- Review and guide system designs, architectures, and code produced by AI Solution Engineers.
- Build RAG pipelines, multi-agent workflows, event-driven services, and enterprise integrations for legal workflows.
- Establish monitoring, logging, tracing, model evaluation, quality benchmarking, and trust frameworks for production AI systems.
- Drive AI-native engineering practices, tooling, delivery processes, and technical standards.
- Lead technical discovery with clients and legal stakeholders and translate workflows and business goals into scalable architectures.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, engineering, and legal experts on reusable solution patterns and emerging AI capabilities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in system design, distributed systems, scalable architecture, and technical leadership.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML or LLM-powered applications in production, including RAG architectures, orchestration frameworks, and evaluation practices.
- Expert-level Python proficiency and modern backend engineering experience, including RESTful APIs, asynchronous systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices for secure, scalable deployments.
- Understanding of AI interoperability and agentic systems, including MCP, Agent-to-Agent workflows, third-party integrations, and tool-augmented architectures.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and AI quality platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, LangSmith, Langfuse, or Braintrust.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills for working with engineers, legal professionals, and business leaders in ambiguous, high-impact environments.
