Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain large-scale interactive web-based visual analytics tools for AI/ML workloads.
- Set technical direction for the IDE platform, including its extension model, contribution points, APIs, and cross-webview state synchronization.
- Own the Python compute service, including FastAPI endpoints, TypeScript client code generation, and streaming compute responses at scale.
- Integrate the LSP client with the compiler team’s language server.
- Own CI/CD for a polyglot monorepo that ships native binaries alongside web and Python artifacts.
- Own per-user container isolation using the IDE framework’s Kubernetes scaffolding.
- Stay current with web IDE development and service operation advancements.
- Communicate with users, partners, stakeholders, and management to deliver systems on time and within budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years, Master’s degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Production TypeScript and Node.js experience, including IDE frameworks, extension hosts, and contribution models.
- Extensive VS Code extension development experience, including extension APIs, webviews, and LSP clients.
- Strong production-depth Python backend skills with FastAPI, Pydantic, and asynchronous subprocesses.
- Expertise with monorepo build systems, including pnpm workspaces, Vite, and CI pipelines.
- Experience with Helm and Kubernetes for deployment configuration, session isolation, and resource policies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, interpersonal, collaborative, and creative skills.
- Preferred experience with remote or cloud IDE architectures such as Gitpod, Coder, or Codespaces, compiler tooling, or large-payload streaming API design.
