Base Salary
$187k - $268k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect secure, high-fidelity network topologies and data contracts using Cisco Modeling Labs.
- Build provenance and validation pipelines for AI training and evaluation data.
- Automate and integrate Cisco controllers across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-native environments.
- Design, build, and test distributed software for network programmability, cloud architecture, and simulation workflows.
- Apply zero-trust principles, threat modeling, RBAC/IAM, and secrets management.
- Implement telemetry and monitoring, conduct postmortems and root-cause analyses, and improve preventive platform controls.
- Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, shape the engineering roadmap, and communicate technical trade-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field plus 8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in STEM plus 6 years, or a PhD in STEM plus 3 years, or equivalent related work experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, and testing production-grade software with languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Java.
- At least 4 years of experience with enterprise or datacenter networking protocols and network simulation or modeling platforms.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems architecture, and containerization technologies.
- At least 3 years of experience integrating and automating network controllers, SDN platforms, or infrastructure management systems through REST APIs or SDKs.
- At least 2 years of experience with secure software development lifecycle practices, including threat modeling, RBAC, and secrets management.
- Preferred qualifications include Cisco Modeling Labs simulation expertise, Cisco controller automation, data-contract and provenance experience, cloud-native operations, infrastructure as code, observability, application and infrastructure security, and technical innovation through research, patents, open source, or publications.
