Responsibilities
- Maintain the availability, performance, scalability, and resilience of systems and services through monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
- Resolve, analyze, and respond to system outages and disruptions, and implement preventative measures.
- Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes and reduce manual workload.
- Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage, identify bottlenecks, and apply performance-tuning practices.
- Collaborate with development and other teams to integrate reliability, scalability, and performance practices into software delivery.
- Build and manage infrastructure and deployment pipelines using modern platform and cloud technologies.
- Contribute to risk management, controls, policy development, governance, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead or guide complex assignments, collaborate with stakeholders, and communicate complex technical information.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Unix/Linux, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and shell scripting.
- Experience with enterprise infrastructure management, including server provisioning, configuration management, operational support, and environment maintenance.
- Expertise with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline creation, build automation, deployment automation, and repository management.
- Experience with DevOps and operations, including monitoring, incident management, problem management, automation, and reliability engineering.
- Knowledge of cloud and platform services such as AWS, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef.
- Experience with containerization, orchestration, and platform engineering using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools including AppDynamics and ELK.
- Working knowledge of Python scripting, NetApp storage, PostgreSQL, IBM MQ, and Kafka.
- Ability to manage risk and controls, apply strategic and business thinking, influence stakeholders, and perform complex analysis.
